Pricing & Billing Cycles

Add one-time and recurring prices to a package, with setup fees and upgrade fees.

A package can have any number of prices. Each price is a separate billing option the customer can choose, for example Monthly €5.00 and Annually €50.00.

Add a price

Open the package, go to the Prices tab and click Create.

Cycles are counted in days. A monthly order bought on 10 March is due on 9 April (30 days later), not on 10 April.

How order prices are calculated

When an order is created, WemX copies the price onto the order and stores it as a daily rate, the cycle price divided by the number of days in the cycle. This has two useful consequences:

  • Flexible renewals. A customer can renew for a different length than their original cycle, for example 90 days on a monthly order, and is charged the daily rate times the number of days.
  • Price changes don't affect existing customers. Editing a package price only affects new orders.

The amount shown for a recurring order is:

(daily package rate + daily rate of each configurable option) × days in the cycle

For one-time orders, the total is the price, plus the setup fee, plus any one-time option costs.

The first payment

At checkout the customer pays:

cycle price + setup fee + configurable option costs (+ tax, if enabled)

Renewals after that don't include the setup fee.
